Back-to-back Appointments
A back-to-back appointment is one hour of Acupuncture together with one hour of Manual Therapy / Medical Massage (MFR) booked on the same day. Most insurance plans require two copays for each of these dates of service, whether provided at one or both of our Clinic locations. If you're seeking more effective and efficient care, ask for a back-to-back appointment the next time you schedule at Mountain Spirit! Family Practice: Quality Primary Care Medicine
Our Nurse Practitioners offer annual exams including paps, blood work, prescription refills, sick visits, sports physicals, and much more. From vital signs to procedures, they provide both the exam and care. We utilize an electronic health record with patient lab and imaging results to facilitate communication among all our Providers. You may consult with an Nurse Practitioner, a Doctor of Oriental Medicine or any combination of our Providers you choose for wellness. You’re free to choose what’s best for you among any recommended pharmaceutical and/or natural treatments. Nervous about an exam? Acupuncture: Japanese Meridian Therapy & Traditional Chinese Medicine
Dating back thousands of years to the very origins of Eastern civilization, Acupuncture is the longest continually practiced health procedure in the world. This technique involves stimulating specific points on the body to promote the even flow of qi or energy, to support and promote the body's own internal physiology for wellness. Our dedicated Team of six Doctors of Oriental Medicine (DOMs) all use the safest and most comfortable Acupuncture needles in the world, Seirin instruments. Some of our Acupuncturists practice Chinese styles, generally placing these instruments deeper to tissues with more palpable musculoskeletal results. Others practice Japanese styles, ideal for sensitive patients or those new to Acupuncture, holding fine instruments on or in very superficial levels of the skin. All of our DOMs may incorporate within their treatments additional Oriental Medical practices, such as: pleasingly warming Moxibustion Therapy (also called “Moxa”) to alleviate pain and nourish organ function; Cupping to release energetic blockages, musculoskeletal tension or even deep trigger points; and natural Herbal Remedies that often provide lasting relief from a variety of symptoms, including complicated medical conditions. Children's or Pediatric Acupuncture
Children under 12 years of age generally need one half hour of treatment, and children over 12 need a full sixty minutes. Our Doctors often use gentle noninsertive Shonishin techniques with your child to ensure happy kids and families. Shonishin treatments are a great resource for many ailments, but especially insomnia, respiratory issues, ear infections, bedwetting, fussiness, digestive or elimination issues, stress, anxiety, and many more ailments.
Homeopathy
Provided by Dr. Janet Padma Mandell. Dr. Mandell uses remedies of super-diluted substances from plant, animal and mineral sources. The remedies dissolve in the mouth to stimulate the healing process. Homeopathy began hundreds of years ago and is practiced worldwide. This therapy is uniquely well designed to treat children of all ages, as well as pregnant and nursing mothers.
Colon Hydrotherapy
Provided by our very own Daneal Healey, Colonics offer the body an accelerated way to cleanse and detox. The colon is a muscle that can become too rigid or flaccid. Through close attention to flow of water and temperature, the therapist helps the body reestablish proper tone. A toned colon leads to regular bowel movements, improved toxin elimination and water/nutrient absorption. Colon Hydrotherapy is often helpful for heartburn / acid reflux, indigestion, gas/bloating, diarrhea or constipation, intestinal parasites, and much more. Many clients report reduced headaches and allergies.
Facial Acupuncture
A gentle way to promote youthfulness and beauty, the treatment suffuses skin and underlying tissues with fresh oxygenated blood and vital nutrients, while addressing the underlying energy imbalances that contribute to the appearance of aging. Use of herbal remedies are essential to support the constitution during treatment.

Herbal Consultations
From any of our Doctors of Oriental Medicine: These begin with a complete Health History, so that our Doctors may understand each patient's unique health background, strengths, challenges, and goals, while learning a Patient's Constitution based on Traditional Asian Medicine principles. Once all of the above is established, our Practitioners endeavor to find formulas that achieve the Patient's goals with the safest most effective formulas. Meanwhile they educate the Patient about the herbal medicine paradigm, how many herbal medicines work in comparison to over-the-counter or pharmaceutical treatments, while often providing references for pharmacological research conducted on the Herbal Medicine formulas.
